Description

With many options now available on the cloud front, evaluating the best use case scenarios for “private” and “hybrid” clouds is critical. However, with these new choices comes added complexity. In this session we’ll provide guidance on when and how to use each type of cloud, we’ll back that up with customer examples from years of cloud experience.

Abstract

With many options now available on the cloud front, evaluating the best use case scenarios for “private” and “hybrid” clouds is critical. However, with these new choices comes added complexity. Typical concerns include, “What are the key drivers I should consider when using a private or hybrid cloud?” “How does one assess and select the cloud computing technologies that best meet their needs?” Can I develop an application and build deployments in one cloud and then replicate the same type of deployment successfully in the other type of cloud?

Shivan Bindal, RightScale product manager, will provide guidance on when and how to use each, and he will outline the typical uses cases for public, private and hybrid clouds using real-world examples to illustrate, including:

  • How to develop in public, deploy in private
  • How to develop in private, deploy in public
  • Discussion around private core, public expansion
  • Moving from vmware to a true cloud environment
  • Differences between running on a public, private, and hybrid clouds
